ABOUT FINNI HEALTH
Finni Health is building the operational and technology infrastructure that powers the next generation of behavioral healthcare. We partner with ABA clinic owners to help them build thriving practices while improving access to care for children and families. We provide the infrastructure for BCBAs to actually do it - credentialing, payer contracting, revenue cycle, HR, compliance, and the software that ties it together - so they can focus on delivering care to kids with autism instead of fighting insurance companies.
Since launching, Finni has grown 400%+ while approaching profitability and is backed by world-class investors, including General Catalyst.
About the Role
Payroll is one of the most important promises we make. Every pay cycle, more than 1,000 W-2 employees across multiple states - plus the practice owners we serve - count on being paid accurately and on time. As our Payroll Manager, you will own that promise end to end.
You will run payroll in Rippling, manage Finni's payroll-tax accounts, oversee Rippling's filings and payments, lead payroll-related reconciliations and audits, and build the scalable, AI-enabled processes that let the payroll function grow as fast as the business does. This is a high-ownership role on our Finance & Operations team, with direct visibility into how a fast-scaling healthcare company runs.
Candidates may live in the United States or Canada, but substantial hands-on U.S. multi-state payroll experience is required.
What You'll Do
Payroll Operations & Compliance
- Own scheduled and off-cycle payroll runs in Rippling for 1,000+ W-2 employees across multiple states - validating timekeeping, compensation changes, garnishments, deductions, and final pay each cycle
- Perform pre- and post-payroll reviews, variance analysis, and funding validation; reconcile payroll to bank, tax, benefits, retirement-plan, and general-ledger records
- Administer approved payments to practice owners and other nonemployees, supporting year-end information reporting (Forms 1099)
- Manage our federal, state, and local payroll-tax accounts - registrations, closures, SUI rates, filing frequencies, and authorizations - as we enter new states
- Oversee filings and payments completed by Rippling, and drive tax notices, amendments, penalties, and credits to documented closure
- Lead quarter-end and year-end activities (Forms 941 and 940, W-2/W-3, applicable Forms 1099), and serve as the primary escalation point for employee and practice-owner payroll questions
Reconciliations & Audits
- Lead recurring insurance reconciliations, matching carrier invoices against enrollments, employee deductions, and employer contributions so we are charged exactly what we owe
- Own 401(k) reconciliations - deductions, contributions, loan repayments, recordkeeper funding - and support annual testing, Form 5500 preparation, and the independent plan audit
- Coordinate annual workers' c
[…]
ogle Sheets and confidence with large payroll datasets
- Demonstrated use of AI or automation tools to build something that shipped - a knowledge base, workflow, bot, or script that other people actually use
- Based in the United States or Canada, able to work core U.S. business hours and meet firm payroll deadlines
Who You Are
- Relentless about accuracy. You reconcile, you double-check, and you find the error before anyone else does.
- You'd rather build the system than run the errand. Handed a manual process, your instinct is to document it, then automate it.
- You close loops. An open agency notice bothers you until it's resolved. You chase things down rather than logging them and moving on.
- You operate without a playbook. We're growing fast and entering new states. You're comfortable being the person who figures it out - and then writes it down so the next person doesn't have to.
Nice to Have
- Direct Rippling administration or implementation experience
- Healthcare, ABA, multi-clinic, multi-entity, or large hourly-workforce experience
- Experience with practice-owner or other nonemployee payment programs at scale
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
- Experience building knowledge bases, workflow automation, or AI-enabled tools in a payroll or finance context
Why Finni
- Own and shape a mission-critical function end to end at a high-growth company backed by General Catalyst and approaching profitability
- Build a modern, AI-first payroll operation - the processes you design will define how we scale
- Work with meaningful autonomy and direct exposure to company leadership
- Help provider-led ABA practices grow and deliver exceptional care to families
