At NerdWallet, we’re on a mission to bring clarity to all of life’s financial decisions and every great mission needs a team of exceptional Nerds. We’ve built an inclusive, flexible, and candid culture where you’re empowered to grow, take smart risks, and be unapologetically yourself (cape optional). Whether remote or in-office, we support how you thrive best. We invest in your well-being, development, and ability to make an impact because when one Nerd levels up, we all do.

The Consumer Web Product team owns web shopping experiences for one of NerdWallet's largest and most mission-critical verticals, serving millions of users making real financial decisions. You'll work across a modern full-stack: Next.js and React on the frontend, GraphQL federation and Node.js services on the backend, deployed on edge infrastructure built for scale and speed. Page performance and Core Web Vitals directly move rankings, conversion, and revenue, so the technical work here has a visible, measurable business impact. We build fast, and we build with data: rapid product-led experimentation, direct input into the company's strategic roadmap, and close collaboration with Paid Marketing and SEO strategists to turn engineering decisions into business outcomes.

If you thrive on high-impact work, solving technical challenges, and shaping the future of financial shopping experiences on the web, this is the place for you.

We're looking for a hands-on player coach Tech Lead Manager to lead the Consumer Facing Web Product team. You act as a pace setter and multiplier for the team, helping to mentor and build your team up to your standards of execution. You'll be deeply involved with the technical day-to-day of the team, helping the team to deliver on the product backlog, contributing to the engineering excellence roadmap, setting architectural direction and ensuring high-quality delivery throughout. You'll be diving in when needed to help set the standards and drive quality. You'll also be responsible for the people management for a team of 3-4 engineers: 1-on-1s, career development and performance management. You bring strong technical judgement to the role, having experience being the senior-most engineer on your team. You avoid micromanagement, choosing to lead through influence and mutual respect rather than authority. You're as excited about delivering high-quality work as you are finding opportunities to unlock growth for your people.

You embrace AI development tools and modern engineering practices, focusing on balancing quality with delivery velocity. You're using AI tools to reshape the Software Development Lifecycle, delegating as much to your team as you are to agentic workflows. You will help the team build out a robust AI developer harness, utilize a consistent spec-driven development workflow and integrate AI skills into every facet of process: from architecture & planning to development, QA, code review and release. You are creating agentic wor
