THE ROLE

Semis is a supply chain that telegraphs itself months in advance, and the people who see it first are inside it: foundry and OSAT contacts, VARs/distributors, EMS and ODM partners, procurement leads, and the engineers specifying the next design win. Lead times, bookings, wafer starts, channel inventory, pricing discipline, and capex intent all surface in those conversations long before they reach an earnings print. Speaking to these experts works, but it has traditionally been hard to scale - language barriers emerge, scheduling and costs become prohibitive. Qualitate has solved that in several other sectors, and semis is up next.

We're seeking an analyst who knows which questions matter, which signals are real, and how to turn a live stream of frontline conversations into research that drives markets. Reporting to the Director of Research, you'll shape the semis roadmap, decide what we cover and when, and publish the insights that establish this coverage. You'll be in front of investors and corporate teams, accountable for the quality of the research and the reputation of Qualitate's semis franchise.

WHAT THE DAY-TO-DAY LOOKS LIKE

• Design the coverage from the ground up - deciding which markets and companies we track, which stakeholders across the value chain are worth interviewing, and what questions actually produce actionable forward-looking signal in this industry.
• Leverage the company’s proprietary datasets to uncover insightful company and market trends across semiconductors, EDA, semi cap equipment, AI infrastructure, data centers, and technology hardware supply chains for investment funds and corporate clients.

map of the value chain. You know where the useful information sits in this industry - fab and test operations, equipment field service, OSAT, distribution, hyperscaler and colo procurement - and you know that the interesting answer is usually two steps upstream of the company being discussed.

• You use AI for both speed and rigor. You understand that AI can be used to both accelerate your initial learning in a space and help you go deeper than you otherwise could have - pressure-testing ideas, automating the analyses you never had time for, and expanding what one analyst can rigorously cover.
• You learn and iterate quickly. You’ll be working alongside accomplished professionals across research, product, and engineering. Pick up what they know and implement; impart what’s incremental onto them.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Base salary: $140k–$200k
• Bonus: Variable dependent on achievement of goals at the company level, team level, and individual level
• Equity: Meaningful early-stage grant with upside tied to company growth
