As Technical Producers at Riot, we lead passionate technical teams to create products and experiences that achieve maximum developer, operator, and player value. We guide development, clear blockers, and push projects across the finish line while ensuring our teams are sustainable and foster a collaborative environment.
As a Senior Technical Producer on the Infrastructure Platform team, you'll drive direction and delivery across the platforms the rest of Riot ships on: live game services in every region, internal tools Rioters build to do their jobs, and a fast-growing set of workloads. Much of the work ahead is extending those platforms to support emergent or underserved use cases, and you'll help decide what that should look like. You'll partner closely with engineering leads across Infrastructure and the teams across Riot who depend on what we deliver.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering managers and technical leads to develop the technical product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your area
- Own product requirements for your area, defining what to build, what success looks like, and how it will be measured.
- Partner with engineering to evaluate designs against user needs, assess trade-offs, and pressure-test implementations
- Manage delivery plans, risks, blockers, dependencies, tradeoffs; maintain clear stakeholder communication
- Lead the breakdown and execution of multi-month work efforts spanning multiple teams within an initiative
- Partner with teams to improve work systems, practices, delivery rituals, and goal setting; strengthen product feedback loops to clarify decisions, strengthen delivery predictability, and create a more consistent customer experience
- Coordinate or facilitate day-to-day team rituals where needed within assigned scope
- Assess team health, composition, and capacity to ensure the team is set up for success
- Drive difficult technical tradeoffs with technical leaders, and articulate and advocate those tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
- Serve as a key point of contact for customers in your assigned scope; engage them to understand needs and coordinate new-work intake
- Prioritize customer requests in partnership with relevant engineering and technical leads for your assigned scope
- Own an integrated view of delivery status across your assigned scope, tracking progress against goals and milestones, and contribute to consolidated reporting for relevant stakeholders, adapting updates to the audience and reporting needs
- Use customer feedback, product signals, test results, and operational data to validate problems and drive priorities
- Monitor product and service health, including user experience, cost, usage, performance, and operational effort, and help turn signals into improvements
- Mentor other producers and contribute ideas beyond your immediate ownership across teams
