About the role
TrueComp is a growth-stage govtech SaaS company expanding its product organization across our workforce analytics suite, including TrueComp Intelligence and Labor Costing. The Product Owner II is a mid-level, hands-on product role that works across the full product suite, partnering with onshore and India-based engineering teams and reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer.
This is an AI-forward role. TrueComp uses Claude and Claude Design throughout the product lifecycle, and the Product Owner II will take a product vision from concept to delivery: building AI-assisted prototypes and UI/UX designs, writing PRDs, creating epics and user stories, and managing backlogs and agile teams through release. We are looking for someone who sees AI as a core part of how product work gets done, and who pairs that fluency with strong product judgment and disciplined agile execution.
What you'll do
Discovery, Prototyping, and Design
- Translate product vision and customer needs into interactive prototypes and UI/UX concepts using Claude Design, and use them to validate direction with customers and stakeholders before engineering work begins
- Author clear, complete PRDs, using Claude to accelerate drafting, analysis, and edge-case discovery while owning the quality and accuracy of the result
- Engage directly with government customers and internal stakeholders (Customer Success, Sales, and Services) to gather requirements, test solutions, and keep the voice of the customer central to product decisions
Backlog and Delivery
- Break PRDs into epics and user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria, and maintain prioritized, well-refined backlogs in Jira across the products you support
- Serve as the day-to-day product decision-maker for your teams: answer questions quickly, clarify scope, and accept or reject work against acceptance criteria and the Definition of Done
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, and manage daily stand-ups and asynchronous communication in partnership with engineering leadership
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, release readiness, and release communications with Engineering, QA, Support, and Cust
