People & Operations Generalist

Who We Are

UnitedMasters is building a marketplace that connects artists, brands and fans - empowering artists to earn and grow. UnitedMasters has taken the bold step of building a music distribution service that, radically, puts artists first - disrupting the legacy music business by letting up-and-coming artists distribute their music directly to fans through streaming services while maintaining ownership of their master recording rights and up to 100% of royalties. Through the combination of UnitedMasters' music distribution platform and its deep ties to brands, UnitedMasters enables independent artists and change-makers to grow and earn unlike any other platform.

The UnitedMasters team is made up of musicians, marketers, engineers, and storytellers with backgrounds from YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora, Facebook, Uber, Dropbox, Complex, VICE, and more. We work hand in hand with the award-winning creative teams that forge those innovative partnerships at Translation (our in-house creative advertising agency).

We’re looking for a People Operations Generalist to own daily employee support, HR systems, and employee lifecycle operations across UnitedMasters, Translation, and Shared Services. You’ll independently manage core People processes, support programs, and use AI and automation to improve how we work. The ideal candidate brings strong HR experience, sound judgment, and the initiative to navigate shifting priorities and take on broader responsibilities.

This role is based in Brooklyn, NY, with four days in office and one remote.

  • HR systems and data: Own day-to-day HRIS and People tool administration, including configuration, workflows, permissions, integrations, vendor coordination, and troubleshooting. Maintain accurate employee records and conduct regular data audits.
  • AI adoption and process improvement: Identify and implement practical uses of approved AI tools and automation across People operations, such as drafting knowledge resources, improving employee self-service, and streamlining recurring workflows. Test outputs for accuracy, protect confidential information, and help teammates adopt effective practices.
  • Immigration coordination: Coordinate visa sponsorships, renewals, and related documentation with employees, People leadership, and external immigration counsel. Track deadlines and maintain organized records.
