About the Role

Varda is manufacturing medicines in orbit and flying government missions that bring hardware back through hypersonic reentry. It’s some of the most ambitious work happening anywhere, and it only happens if the people, facilities, information, and hardware behind it are protected. That’s the job. You would be the one who makes Varda’s security program real.

As the Industrial and Personnel Security Manager, you will own the day-to-day execution of our industrial security compliance and personnel security programs. This is a builder’s role, not a maintenance role. You’ll design practical processes, keep the program inspection-ready, and work shoulder to shoulder with HR, IT, Legal, Engineering, Mission Management, and Business Development, from the first customer conversation through launch and recovery.

You’ll report directly to the Director of Security, who is also our Facility Security Officer (FSO), and support industrial and personnel security activities as assigned. With designation and completion of required training, you may serve as Alternate FSO, a real path to expanded responsibility. The Director retains primary FSO authority, program oversight, and required certifications. Special program personnel security and COMSEC duties apply as customer requirements are established.

Compensation and Perks

Salary Range: $115,000 - $155,000
Location: El Segundo, CA
Leveling and base salary are determined by job-related skills, education level, experience level, and job performance.
Eligibility for long-term incentives in the form of stock options or long-term cash awards, so you share in the upside as Varda grows.
Ability to purchase company stock through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
