About Virtru
While the rest of the security industry obsesses over locking data down to prevent it from being lost or stolen, we're doing something fundamentally different at Virtru. We're setting data free so that you can intentionally share it with others, but without sacrificing security, privacy, or control.
We've created both a suite of powerful data protection applications and an open platform that's sparking an ecosystem of innovation. Through the Trusted Data Format (TDF) open standard, we're not just protecting data; we're creating a new paradigm where security enables sharing rather than preventing it.
Think of us as the Android of data protection: a robust platform with an open core that developers and partners can build upon, coupled with our own best-in-class applications that showcase what's possible when you reimagine security from the ground up.
Backed by Iconiq Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Foundry Capital, and Tiger Global, we're helping Fortune 500 companies and government agencies discover that true data security means having the freedom to share, collaborate, and innovate — without compromise.
Compensation: $190,000 - 250,000/year
Team & Position Details
Virtru protects data wherever it travels, for customers ranging from commercial enterprises to the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, Law Enforcement, and Federal Civilian agencies. Many of these customers are deploying one of Virtru’s product stack in their mission environments, and some of those environments have no path to the internet.
As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in the Delivery Engineering organization, you’d be helping to build a founder team focused on making these deployments simple, easy, and fast. You’ll be relentless in the pursuit of one-click deployability, automating the hard stuff to ensure that we make every deployment faster and more reliable than the last one. You’ll build and maintain a compatibility matrix customers can self service without engineering support, build automation to test and validate releases for deployability before they ship rather than after, and architect and deliver observability and diagnostics a customer can run and act on without us in the room. We build the automation, packaging, and tooling that makes that true, and we turn what we learn on each customer into something every later customer reuses.
You’ll work directly with deployment engineers and forward deployed engineers to identify needs and turn long run books and disparate bootstrap scripts into working software that solves their problems. You’ll also interact with our product engineering teams to influence their roadmap to deliver critical infrastructure and platform capabilities that improve deployment reliability and repeatability. You will work alongside a Principal Software Development Engineer who owns Delivery Engineering’s engineering standard and reusable-asset architecture. You own the delivery path built under it
