The Director, Engineering is the strategic owner to the build and delivery of WelbeHealth's healthcare technology platforms and software applications, leading a team of onshore and offshore engineers to create the technology at the center of how our interdisciplinary teams care for the most vulnerable seniors. This role reports to the VP of Technology. A hands-on engineering leader, the Engineering Director drives core engineering practices across the team, including code quality, design and code reviews, testing discipline, and delivery rhythm. This role provides technical leadership in software architecture, engineering processes, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and support a competitive advantage, particularly in AI-assisted engineering. The Engineering Director works closely with business stakeholders to design technical solutions and drive engineering delivery for the product. Collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to promote the WelbeHealth values, team culture, and mission.

• Leads engineering at the intersection of healthcare, cloud modernization, and AI, with the opportunity to scale high-performing teams, modernize enterprise technology on Azure, and establish how AI-assisted engineering becomes an integral part of how WelbeHealth builds and delivers technology

On the day-to-day, you will

• Lead and mentor a team of onshore and offshore engineers to deliver WelbeHealth's healthcare technology platforms and related participant and consumer digital products
• Perform hands-on solution architecture and design for complex distributed (multi-tiered) systems, and actively participate in design and code reviews to ensure both delivery of desired business outcomes and alignment to enterprise standards

Compensation consists of base salary plus bonus. WelbeHealth offers a competitive total rewards package that includes a 401(k) match, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and a broad range of additional benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and relevant qualifications.
